Craig's Kempo Karate Academy In the NewsChild escapes would-be abductorThe Belmont Police Department is on the lookout for a white man in his mid-30s who was involved in attempted child abduction outside the Burbank Elementary School. The child used lessons he’d learned in a Watertown karate school to escape the man, according to WCVB-TV Channel 5. According to a news release, on Feb. 7, the man allegedly led a 10-year-old boy away from the school on foot from the Burbank to an area near the Chenery Middle School. 02/15/2008 Karate School Credited For Boy Escaping AttackBELMONT, Mass. -- Police are still looking for the man who tried to kidnap a 10-year-old boy in Belmont. Meanwhile, the boy’s parents have credited a self-defense program for helping him break free of his attacker.

02/09/2008 Karate academy raises Katrina fundsCraig's Kempo Karate Academy, 80 School St., has raised more than $9,000 in disaster relief funds to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Linda Driscoll, the MetroWest director for the American Red Cross, accepted a check Oct. 11, for $9,236.36 at the academy. This year alone, the karate school has raised more than $17,000 for disaster relief, $8,000 for the tsunami and more than $9,000 for Hurricane Katrina. From the $31.20 that 7-year-old Justin raised, to Alexander, who is 8 years old and raised $1,800, every contribution matters. 10/20/2005 Craig inducted into World Martial Arts Federation Hall of FameSensei Craig S.
