October NewsletterThis is the 64th edition and 10th issue this year of the Dojo’s newsletter. October is here and so is the fall. It is starting to get chilly and the leaves are changing. I love this time of year! Sweaters, jeans, and football. The patriots are in for an interesting season with #12 out for the year and #16 taking over at the helm. I know they can do it, but it is not going to be like last year. On to the dojo news. We had a great September! All the students returned from their summer vacations and classes have filled back up. The dojo is now back into full operation. The 4th annual BBQ was a great success. We didn’t let a little thing like the rain stop us. We moved the festivities in doors and the 80 or so people that came had a great time eating burgers and some tasty side dishes. I want to thank every one who helped out with the set up and break down of the dojo. The big news for October is the fall W.M.A.F tournament at the Reggie Lewis Arena. The dojo’s tournament team is putting in a lot of hard work getting ready to compete. I want to wish them the best of luck. I want to invite everyone who is not competing to come down and watch our team battle for the big trophies. See Anita she has all the info. October is time for our annual Halloween costume party. This is a great party for the kids and parents. Please let Anita know if you are planning on coming. (space is limited this year and we need RSVP’S) Back by popular demand is the dojo sleepover. Play games, eat pizza, watch movies, and best of all, stay up late. Saturday the 18th is the day, 6:30pm is the time, all we need is you. Sign up to save your spot. How are you doing with getting your cards out? The enrollment contest is up and running. We are booking intro lessons from your referrals. The prize is still up for grabs. I f you need more cards please see any Sensei and will get them for you. Remember you can’t win if you don’t participate. With October here it is now time for the winter uniforms. Gi top’s or long sleeve shirts are required for class starting October 1st. Now that fall is here winter is just around the corner, in case we have to close due to weather please check the website or call and there will be a message on the answering machine. Also, unfortunately cold and flu season is upon us and since Karate is a contact sport germs are spread very easily, if your child is coughing, sneezing has a runny nose or a fever; we would appreciate it if you would keep your child home. We launched a new website for the dojo and it looks cool. If you haven’t been there lately you should check it out. While you are there sign up to receive the news letter via email and emails on up coming events. If you are looking for a fun birthday party idea talk to us about having it here at the dojo they are a blast. Truth and Honor Sensei Craig
