This is the 61st edition and 7th issue this year of the Dojo’s newsletter.

July is here and so is the summer. Finally, I thought it would never get here. The weather is sunny and hot with lots of tropical style thunder storms. This is great for the vegetation and lawns but not so much for us people who want to be outside enjoying the sun shine.

In July we celebrate our country’s independence on the 4th. This is a very important day for me. As you all know I served my country as an United States Army Airborne Ranger and this is something that I am very proud of. I support our armed forces and their endeavors to bring freedom and democracy to those who don’t know it. So on the 4th as you celebrate our freedom please remember that freedom is not free and thank a service man or women for answering the call of our nation.

Now on to the dojo news:

We have a lot of things happening this month at the dojo. We are starting our summer Karate camps in July and they are going to be packed with Kempo training and games. I have planned some very exciting things for these camps And I know that whom ever attends will have a blast. We still have some room open on all the camps, so if you are interested please see Anita for the details.

We have started Yoga classes for both Adults and Kids. They are taught by Emmy (Sam Casey’s Mom) on Friday nights (we are looking for other times for these classes) and they go for 45 mins. The classes are a great way to get flexible and relax. See Anita for the details.

The dojo community list is back. This is a list of people that are associated with the dojo and have services they can offer. If you have a service that you want to offer please see Anita and she will add you to the list.

Last month we held a Black Belt test For Adam B. He did an outstanding job and earned his Black Belt. The Test was very challenging and Adam with his indomitable spirit and perseverance met every challenge and succeeded. He now is the proud owner of a Black Belt Ring and I am very proud of him.

We also conducted a test last month and I want to congratulate those students that passed. With the summer here the class attendance will be low. This is normal and a great time for those students that do attend to get more Sensei time.

We will shut down for regular classes on Wednesday the 3rd and reopen on Monday the 7th for camp and classes.
