Monthly Newsletter

June

This is the 84th edition and 6th  issue this year of the Dojo’s newsletter.

May brought the warm weather and the sun shine. June brings in the end of the school year and the summer. I cant say it enough times, I love this time of year.

The dojo competed in the annual spring World Martial Arts Federation tournament. The team did a great job and brought home a ton of trophies that are now in the window of the front room.  Thank you team for all your hard work and dedication!

There will be no tournament team or demo team practice until July. If any student wants to join either team please see me.

Summer Karate camps are filling up quickly. If you want to come you should sign up now.

June is Black Belt testing month here at our Dojo. We have 4 students testing for their Dan rankings. I want to wish the best of luck to Amin, Tina, Sam, and Alxan.

We are also holding a big test for  the dojo this month. We have 30 students testing this weekend and receiving there new ranking on the 13th
during the Black Belt Ceremony at the Hosmer school. I want to wish all them best of luck also.

We are taking the dojo to the new Karate Kid Movie on Saturday the 12th. So far we have 50 or so people going. If you would like to come with us please see Anita for the details.

The end of the school year dojo sleep over is this month. What a way to kick the summer off . Playing games, eating Pizza, watching movies and
staying up wicked late! Sign up quick because this is going to be a good one!

I just want to remind everyone that there is no food or drinks allowed in the dojo or front room.

Training Notes

This month we will be working on getting students prepared for the up coming test. Then moving on to sparring and self defense
techniques.

To all students: mark your gear bags and equipment with your name.

We have had several instances of students taking the wrong gear bag home. Please check to make sure you are grabbing your bag at the end of class.

To all students in the intermediate class and above. Start practicing the basic sets and forms you have for your kali sticks. We will be doing a lot of stick work this summer.
