JanuaryThis is the 79th edition and 1st issue this year of the Dojo’s newsletter. January is here and so is the New Year. I hope everyone had a great holiday season with family and friends. Now onto the news. Look for us on Face book! We have a page on facebook and update it regularly. Become a fan and stay informed about what’s going on at the Dojo. Anita is looking for pictures and stories from our students to post. See her for the details. With winter here, get the info for weather closings by either: 1. message on the Dojo phone after 12:00p. 2. Face book page 3. My blog on the Dojo’s website Check these after 12 on the day of the storm to find out if we have classes that night. We are holding a karate camp during the February vacation sign up early to save a spot. We are holding the first Dojo sleep over of the year this month. The night will be filled with new karate games and tons of fun. See Anita to sign up. Just to remind everyone that if you are sick please don’t come to class. This is the flu season and we need to be vigilante in our efforts to keep the spread of the flu to a minimum. Training Notes With the cold weather here students should not leave their sparring equipment in their cars. The freezing and thawing of the gear can ruin it. Also please remember that students must have all of their sparring gear marked with their name on each piece and the gear bag. There is a no food or drinks allowed in the dojo . The only drink allowed in the dojo or front room is water. We have openings in the weapons class for any student purple belt or above who wants to join. See me for the details. Looking for a great Birthday party idea? How about a Karate birthday party at the dojo. We do all the work and you and your guest have all fun. I want to send a special thanks out to the teens who helped out by serving food to the Homeless Veterans last month. Jackie, Andrew, Levi, Reed, Olivia, and Haruna you guys did a great job. Also Sensei Jeimie that was an awesome demo you did. Sensei Craig
