February

This is the 80th edition and 2nd issue this year of the Dojo’s newsletter.

February is here and so is the cold. I am so looking forward to spring. I hope that everyone finds their Valentine this month. Now onto the news.

The help for Haiti bake sale, silent auction, and raffles raised over $2400 dollars. We are waiting for the money from the silent auction to come in  before we can give the
final amount.

The winning number for the magic ticket raffle is 532123. Check your
tickets and come get your prize.

THANK YOU to everyone that donated items and baked  for the sale and sold raffles. You are the ones that made this fund raiser a success. We will be turning over the money to the Red Cross at the end of the week.

Look for us on Face book!
We have a page on face book and update it regularly. Become a fan and stay informed about what’s going on at the Dojo. Anita is looking for pictures and stories from our students to post. See her for the details.

With winter in full force I want to remind every one to make sure that you take all of your hats, gloves, sweat shirts, and jackets home with you. We have a lost and found box in the dojo. If you are missing winter clothes and accessories check there. I donate all items at the beginning of the month.

We are holding a karate camp during the February vacation. You can sign up for the whole week or one day at a time. This camp we will be working on kali sticks and rank required material along with  karate games. So sign up early to save a spot.

This month we are holding a family hand pad seminar on Saturday the 20th. This is a great way to get involved with your child’s Karate training. You and your kid will learn fun ways to use the pads.  Space is limited for this event so sign up A.S.A.P.

Training Notes
This month we will be concentrate training for the little dragons and tigers on sparring. The intermediates and above will be concentrating on kali sticks and other
weapons training.

All students should make sure that they have all of their sparring gear and weapons with them for all classes.

I leave you with this saying:
“your Sensei may forgive you for not practicing, but Kempo will not”
