Craigs Kempo Karate Academy Monthly NewsletterStay informed on our latest news! |
FebruaryThis is the 68th edition and 2nd issue this year of the Dojo’s newsletter. February is here and I need to apologies for getting the news letter out late. I had to do my civic duty and be part of a jury. The case took up a lot of time but luckily it is over now and I can return to my normal busy days. This seems to be the winter of never ending snow and today is no different. I can’t wait until the spring and the warm weather. Now on to the news for the month. The big news for last month was the test we held. Every one passed and I want to congratulate the Lil dragons who tested. You guys looked great and where well prepared for your test. All the other students did well too. We also ran a hand pad seminar with the parents coming in and working with their kids. Fun was had by everyone and I think the best time of the night was when the parents tossed the pads at the kids and they knocked them out of the air with hand strikes. It looked like a lot of fun. We now have a new Black Dragon Demonstration Team. Congrats to Alexan, Vanna, Stellios, Zelal, Talia, Sam, Daniel A, Constanza, and Parkev. They all tried out and made the team. Keep an eye out for their first Demonstration. We have a Tournament coming up in May and any student that wants to compete must join the Tournament team by the 25th of this month. This month we are holding a Pizza movie night on the 14th (Valentines Day). Space is filling up already and if you want to be part of it sign up ASAP. February vacation is almost here and we are running a Karate camp that week. This camp will be full of karate and games. Like all of our camps space is limited and slots are first come first served. I wan to let every one know that you can view the newsletter online at www.craigskempo.com. You can also sign up to receive emails from us too. We are getting really busy with private lessons and the schedule is getting tight. I want to thank everyone who takes privates, but I also want to remind you, that we need at least a 24hr notice for cancellation or reschedule on your part. With out it you will have to pay for the missed lesson. To all students I want to remind you of the Dojo's late to class policy. You can join the class if you are not more than 10 minutes late and you have done your 25 push ups. You may watch the class but not participate if you are more than 10 minutes late! Parents if your child is sick please don't bring them to class. This is a contact sport and colds can be easily spread. Just reminding everyone that the bottled water is not free, It costs a $1 per bottle. The money can is on top of the frig. If you didn’t know we do Birthday parties here. Ask Anita for the details.
