DecemberThis is the 66th edition and 12th issue this year of the Dojo’s newsletter. December is here and so are the Holidays. I love this time of Year. My Family and I want to wish everyone wishes of comfort and joy this holiday season. During this time of year I am very thankful for every thing we have accomplished. I want to thank you, the Dojo community, for making 2008 the best year the dojo has had. Now on to the news. We have a lot of Holidays in the middle of the week this month and have many schedule changes. So check the schedule for your class to see if we are holding it. We will be back to our normal schedule in January. Every Holiday season we collect toys for Toy-for-Tot’s. And every year we collect more than the previous year. Last year we collected 4 big boxes, this year I would like to collect 5. So here is the pitch. I am asking every student to bring in at least 1 unwrapped, new toy, for the collection. If we do that then I’m sure we can easily accomplish the goal of 5 boxes. Remember that times are tough economically and there are many kids right here in Watertown that will go with out this Christmas if we don’t help. We are conducting a test this month on the 14th. The test list has been posted, but I want to let students know that the Sensei’s will be giving out stripes to students that they feel are working hard and deserving of them all month. So if you are close to having all your stripes you may be able to earn a spot on the test. See any of the Sensei’s to find out what you need to do. We are holding the last dojo sleep over of the year on Saturday the 20th. The sleepovers are a blast. We will be playing holiday themed games, watching movies, and staying up late. Bothers and sisters of students are welcome, but sign up early space is limited. We are also running Karate camp on the 29th,30th,31st, of this month. These will be game and skills camps. These camps are tons of fun and are also open to the brothers and sisters of students. We have a started a sparring only class on Thursdays. This class is open to any student that is yellow belt and above and teaches the students the basic’s and advanced techniques of sparring. We still have some room left in the class and if you are interested please see me or Mrs. Sensei for the details. The last thing I want to do is to thank all of the staff here at the dojo. Thank You Sensei Brian, Ed, and Jerimie for all the hard work you have put in this year making sure that every Kempoka is getting the very best Kempo training. I also want to Thank Jackie for all the hard work she has put in with the Sleepovers and Camps. And most of all I want to thank my best friend, wife, and partner Anita. |
