August NewsletterThis is the 62nd edition and 8th issue this year of the Dojo’s newsletter. August is here and so is the hot weather. This is a great time of year and perfect for those beach days. The best news is the Patriots are back in training camp and looking like they will make another run for the Super Bowl. (I’m very excited about this) Now on to the news for the month. Last month we were to my surprise very busy, this is not the usual for July, I am excited about it. I hope August keeps the same trend. We ran 2 karate camps and the kids had a great time working on their requirements for the next belt rank. We also held a Dojo movie/pizza/ game night the students and their siblings had an awesome time playing games and watching the movie. August is shaping up to be very busy for the dojo. There are a lot of things happening. First we are running 2 weeks of Karate camp and there are only a few spots left. So if you want to attend see Anita A.S.A.P. These camps are skill themed and a great way to get ready for the up coming August belt test. Which brings me to the next thing for the month. We are conducting a Belt test on Sunday August 17th and the preliminary test list will be posted on Monday the 4th. Students not on the list may be able to earn a spot. Please see any of the We are also holding the end of the summer dojo sleepover on Saturday the 16th. The dojo sleep over start time has been changed to 6:30 pm to give the kids more time for games and fun. Siblings are welcome to attend as well as friends. Please see Anita to sign up. We have a schedule change for classes starting this month. Every student effected by this change has been notified. If you have any questions please see me or Anita. We will be shutting down for vacation at the end of the month from August 24th thru September 1st. We will reopen on September 2nd to start the fall training. I want to remind all students that they need to mark their gear bags with some sort of label or tag with their name on it. Last month we had several students accidentally take home somebody else's gear. Also make sure that you have all your sparring gear in your bag and each piece is marked with your name. We have had a rash of students losing pieces of gear and having to purchase new ones. Remember it is your gear and you are responsible for taking care of it. Keep an eye out for our new website. It should be online by the 15th of this month. Also make sure that we have your updated email address on record.
