August

This is the 74th edition and 8th  issue this year of the Dojo’s newsletter.

August is here and finally so is the summer. There was just to much rain in July. The Patriots have started training camp and the sox are battling to keep in contention for a play off spot. Now on to the news.

The news letter is being published a few days late this month so I could talk about the BBQ we had last Sunday the 2nd. It was just plain and simply put AWESOME. We had a least a hundred people stop by and enjoy themselves.

The big hit this year had to be the dunk tank. I know that I was dunked several times and the kids looked like they where having a blast. Jackie and Jerimie also had a good time being dunked, but unfortunately Sensei’s Brian and Ed decided not to go into the tank. But they donated their time to the kids, who by the look of things had a better time than I did. The food was great and I want to thank everyone who brought in a side dish. If you brought a dish, please see Anita to pick it up.

Also I want to give some special thanks to the following people who with out their help things would not of run so smoothly: Dennis S. (Luca’s Dad) and Luca, Maureen G (Leah’s Mom, website admin), Alex and Emmy T. (Sam’s mom, step dad) Mike C. (Sam’s Dad), Eric B. (Talia’s Dad), Ms Jackie and her brother Andrew. Thank you  Guys.

We are holding Karate Camps this month and still have a few openings. If you want to come please see Anita before the slots are gone.

We are also holding the end of the summer/ back to school sleepover. This one is going to be a blast. I have a bunch of glow sticks left over from the last seminar and we will be using them during the sleepover for games.

The Black Belt Club has a few openings left. This is a great way to help you reach your Black Belt. Private lessons along with group classes is the best way to learn Kempo. See me or Anita for the details.

The tournament team starts practice again in  September. Any student is welcome to join the team and compete in the fall tournament.
See any of the Sensei’s or Anita for the details.

One last thing, We are closing down for a summer vacation this month. We will be closed August 31st thru September 7th. We will open on Tuesday the 8th of September for classes.

Enjoy the rest of the summer.
