April

This is the 70th edition and 4th  issue this year of the Dojo’s newsletter.

April is here and so is the spring sort of. The weather is changing to rainy and some what warm. The Red Sox are getting ready to start the season and I’m still waiting for the nice weather. Now on to the news.

This months letter is a few days late. I have been very busy lately and this is the first chance I had to write it.

March was an awesome month for us. The sleepover was a blast, everyone have a good time. The pillow fight in the morning was the best part.

We also held a test and I want to congratulate every student that tested. You guys looked great. The star of the test Carla (she is also the student of the month) she was well prepared for the test and set the standard for the others to follow. We also held a black belt pre test and the students that took it are one step closer to their Black Belt. Keep up the good work.

We  celebrated our dojo’s 6th anniversary with a huge party. There was a 120 people here and they all had a good time. The kids got a special treat and had games galore in the downstairs dojo. I want to thank everyone who attended and want to send out a special thank you to John (Daniel V’s dad), Keith (Katrina B’s dad), Dennis (Luca S’S Dad) Jackie and Andrew S, and Daniel V. for all the help setting up the party and helping out with the dinner.

It is that time of year when we have picture day here at the dojo. We have Orlando from K+D photo come and take pictures of the students. If you are interested in getting pictures done see Anita to reserve your time and for the details.

We have taken the refrigerator out of the upstairs dojo, but we are still selling water. Just ask the Sensei who is teaching the class to purchase some.

Since we only had 2 people signed up we have decided to cancel the April vacation Karate Camp.

With spring here it is time to switch to the warm weather uniform. Students are now allowed to wear short sleeve t-shirts instead of their Gi top’s. Remember to bring your Gi top with you to every class, students will need them when we do ground fighting.

On another note. There is no eating in the front room or dojo for adults or children and only water is allowed in the dojo.

Mrs. Sensei wanted me to let everyone who has gotten a new credit card that they use for tuition to please see her A.S.A.P. so she can get the new info.

With all the spring sports starting up. I want to remind every student that you need to leave time for practice and Karate classes as well as the spring sport you might be playing.

One more thing, you can not wear any jewelry or watches to class, so please leave it at home. I have 4 pair of earrings on my desk along with a ring that students have left.
